Your body is always talking to you. A number on a blood test. A reading on your smartwatch. A symptom that comes and goes. The problem is that most of us are handed these results with almost no explanation — and left to either panic or ignore them.
The Body Detectives exists to change that. We help you decode the signals your body gives you: what your lab results actually mean, what your numbers are telling you about your health, and — most importantly — what you can do about them. Every word is written in plain English by a medical doctor, so you can finally understand your own body with confidence.
Who is behind The Body Detectives
The Body Detectives is founded and written by Dr. Mostafa Sakr, a medical doctor who holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBCh).
After years of studying medicine and seeing how often people leave a doctor’s office more confused than when they arrived, Dr. Sakr created The Body Detectives with one goal: to translate complex medical information into clear, accurate, and genuinely useful guidance. He believes that understanding your own health shouldn’t require a medical degree — it just requires someone willing to explain it properly.
What we help you understand
Our work focuses on the everyday health data that confuses people the most:
- Blood tests — what each marker means, what’s normal, and what to do when it isn’t.
- Vitamins & minerals — deficiencies, ideal levels, and how to correct them safely.
- Hormones & metabolism — thyroid, blood sugar, and the markers that shape how you feel.
- Vitals & wearables — heart rate, blood pressure, sleep, and what your devices are really telling you.
How we create our content
Every article on The Body Detectives is:
- Written and reviewed by a medical doctor.
- Based on current, reputable medical evidence.
- Written in plain language, without unnecessary jargon.
- Reviewed and updated as medical understanding evolves.
Our promise is simple: accuracy first, clarity always.
An important note
The Body Detectives provides health education and information — not personal medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our content is designed to help you understand your health and ask better questions, but it can never replace a consultation with your own doctor, who knows your full history. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any questions you may have about a medical condition.
